Reclaim space

Reclaim your ceiling with a high-lift conversion

Got tall ceilings? A high-lift conversion lifts the door higher before it rolls back — freeing 12 to 30+ inches of overhead space for a car lift, overhead storage, or simply cleaner lines.

Reclaim your ceiling with a high-lift conversion

Updated July 2026

High-lift isn't just a longer track. Done right, it needs re-engineered springs, tapered cable drums and a side-mount jackshaft opener that moves the motor off the ceiling entirely. Get any of those wrong and the door binds or the springs wear out early.

Why us for this

Done properly, the first time

12–30+ inches back

Lift the door higher before it turns horizontal and reclaim the overhead room a standard track wastes.

Ceiling stays clear

A wall-mount jackshaft opener frees the centre of your ceiling for a car lift, racking or a clean look.

Engineered as a system

Springs, drums and track are matched to your door's weight and travel so it stays balanced and quiet.

Good questions

High-lift conversions — FAQ

How much headroom do I need for high-lift?

Generally more than 14 inches above the opening. We measure on site and tell you exactly how much lift we can achieve.

Can you do high-lift with my existing door?

Often, if the door and panels are in good shape. It's also the ideal time to pair it with a new door — one mobilisation, one balanced system.

Why a jackshaft opener?

A side/wall-mount jackshaft drives the torsion shaft directly, keeping the motor off the ceiling so your reclaimed space stays usable.
